On 13 August 2022 the Founder of Younger Heroes (YH), Damien Schofield, will be running the 105km Scenic rim ultramarathon in Kooralbyn, QLD to raise money to facilitate operations and deliver programs to support Younger Heroes. Funds raised will allow YH to continue to deliver these programs that are so critically needed.
Younger Heroes programs provide parents and children with the tools to share, communicate and rediscover their connection, strengthening bonds and laying a framework for building resilience.
Our program is particularly relevant for parents who have experienced time away from their families as a result of their employment (Military, Police and other First Responders), or individuals with high risk, high stress and time-intensive occupations. Younger Heroes empowers its participants to reconnect.
Younger Heroes programs run for 3 days and 2 nights in remote locations across New South Wales, Tasmania and Western Australia with the option to fly participants in. The Younger Heroes prides itself on having a team of professionals with qualified experience in their respective fields.
Objectives & Benefits
Younger Heroes focuses on four core objectives:
- Strengthening family bonds
- Building Personal Resilience
- Enhancing Communication
- Encouraging Teamwork
In addition to the four core objectives, YH Program is a nature-based activity, which limits technological distractions and facilitates physical activity and experiential learning opportunities. The key benefits of Younger Heroes programs include:

- Increase mental awareness
