Sixteen-year-old Jullian Pereida was born to be a Football Star! A solid leader at Channelview High School just outside of Houston, Texas - he made a memorable impact in his time as a Mike Linebacker, and was Team Captain as a Freshman!
Jullian Pereida's dream since childhood was to dedicate his efforts to SUCCESS in Football - play hard, secure scholarships, play in college, and work his way onto an NFL Field. JuJu was DETERMINED TO BE THE ONE TO FOREVER CHANGE his family’s life & circumstances.
JUST DAYS before his highly anticipated Varsity Football Season opened in 2024/25 - Jullian went for a specialized screening, and the Family was informed of an abnormal ECG. On August 23rd, 2024 - Jullian was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
THE SAME DIAGNOSIS THAT SAVED HIS LIFE - IN AN INSTANT - PERMANENTLY STIFF ARMED HIS FOOTBALL DREAMS.
❤️ HCM ❤️ is a rare, life-threatening, Heart condition wherein thickening of the walls & muscles of the heart obstruct blood flow. While usually able to be managed with lifestyle changes and medications - the severity of damage to Jullian’s Heart is significant enough that his HCM Specialists recommends pursuit of a transplant.
Today, 12 months has passed since JuJu was diagnosed with ❤️ HCM ❤️.
Instead of suiting up under the Friday night lights, Julian now spends 15+ days per month attending therapy appointments, specialized consultations, and undergoing extended medical testing procedures.
September 3rd, 2025 - the data is finally adding up, and results of a Heart Cath procedure confirmed that JuJu will soon begin preparations for a Heart Transplant. For the family, this means a seriously demanding schedule of assesments, therapies, and treatments to secure Jullian's spot on the UNOS Heart Transplant List for Texas!
Because of rigid medical restrictions, JuJu had to not only depart athletics, but is actively adapting to completing High School from home via a Virtual/HomeBound Program. This allows for the flexibility needed to support the demands of his medical schedule.

In the last 6 months, Jullian has been BUSY! When not in the Hospital, JuJu has actively shown up in the community to raise awareness, learning to support & educate others. He plans to work alongside other organizations during events to promote early testing in youth athletics. He has spoken at community events.
JuJu is putting in the work to help ensure that Cardiac issues are detected before becoming deadly to student athletes, just like him. His story has also been featured by Mr. Bill Spencer, on KPRC 2 News. Jullian is determined to make a difference - working in the memory of kids fallen to Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Now that JuJu is under Care of the #1 Cardiology Program for Children in the Nation - his Care needs are finally stable!

- 50% WILL BE PLACED INTO A SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST FOR THE DIRECT BENEFIT OF JULLIAN PEREIDA. 17 YEARS OLD ON 10/17, THESE FUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO HIM WITH STRUCTURE, DESIGNED WITH DISPERSEMENTS TO FUND HIS LIFE GOALS @ AGES 18, 21, 25 AND BEYOND!!!
- 50% - GOES DIRECTLY TO JULLIAN PEREIDA'S WISHES TO ESTABLISH A 501C3 WHERE HE CAN WORK TO DIRECTLY SUPPORT & RAISE AWARENESS IN YOUTH & FAMILIES IMPACTED BY GENETIC CONDITIONS, JUST LIKE HIS OWN! JuJu wishes to establish this Organization for him to speak, coach, and run - to establish a Legacy for Julia and #TeamJuJu44 to build & grow, to carry on his dream, if anything should happen to him.
