Please Help Tamar Juice Bar Through Its Final Months
Tamar Juice Bar is a small, Israeli-owned juice bar that has served its Brooklyn neighborhood for years. Like many independent businesses, Tamar operates on tight margins and depends on steady community support to survive.
In recent months, Tamar has been directly targeted by organized BDS boycotting. As a result, customer traffic has dropped sharply and revenue has suffered significantly, pushing the business into serious financial strain and mounting debt.
In addition to the boycott, Tamar has experienced ongoing harassment in the form of repeated false complaints to the NYC Health Department. Over a two-month period, inspectors were sent four separate times following complaints that were ultimately unfounded. While Tamar has always operated in compliance, these repeated inspections caused major disruption to daily operations and created significant emotional and financial stress.
Due to the current situation, Tamar is now being run by one owner working nearly all the time, without staff, simply trying to keep the doors open.
Between the boycott, winter slowdown, rising costs, accumulated debt, and this pattern of harassment, Tamar Juice Bar has reached a breaking point. The store is scheduled to close at the end of April.
This fundraiser is not about profit or politics. It is about helping a small business survive its final months with dignity and care. Funds raised will help:
• Pay down outstanding debt
• Cover rent and operating costs through closure
• Support the owner during this difficult transition
• Prevent lasting financial harm caused by circumstances beyond their control
Tamar is not a corporation or a political organization — it is a neighborhood juice bar run by one person who is being deeply affected by circumstances far beyond their control.
If you’re able to donate or share, it would truly mean a lot.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for caring <3
