Tabor IA (i.e. :Lamps/Art/Park)

Tabor, Iowa.  Tabor Hometown Pride has identified projects in the Hometown Pride focus of first impressions as well as quality of life in Tabor, Iowa. We are seeking funds to improve main street, including decorative lighting and art projects.

We are searching for donations to match a $30,000 grant from the DNR to purchase and improve the green space next to Casey’s.  This pocket park improves Tabor’s curb appeal,  brightens our main street, provides space for the farmer’s/craft market, homecoming and holiday celebrations, and for visitors a place to stop and rest.  Time is of the essence, as this grant funding will soon expire.

We are also currently looking for 100 people to donate $100 for the creation of an endowment fund specifically for Tabor and invested with and managed by the Fremont County Community Foundation.  It requires a $10,000 startup commitment.   These funds are invested with other endowments, and guarantees an annual 4.5% return to Tabor only projects.  The interest exceeding 4.5% is rolled into the principal and increases the investment, and thereby the returns.   As the principal grows, so does the annual amount available to Tabor.   Four other towns in our county have already created endowments on their behalf.   Be a part of the change -- help Tabor Hometown Pride get this started!

To make donations for any of these projects, you can send them to Tabor Hometown Pride, PO Box 42, Tabor, Iowa; stop into the First State Bank; or visit the GoFundMe Page at:
