It is with hope for the future that we share the shocking news of Tim’s heart failure and recent ICU admission. Tim is a loving husband, devoted father, and much-loved member of our family and local community.

Tim’s deterioration from a fit and healthy man, self-employed, working hard to support his children and family, recently married to his darling wife Heidi, to lying sedated and intubated in an intensive care unit (ICU) bed, was shocking and swift. He was working just 24 hours before being sent to hospital in an ambulance.

Tim has cardiomyopathy, a disease of his heart muscle, leading to heart failure, with his heart only pumping at 30% efficiency. While in ICU, he also suffered from a stroke, due to a blood clot from the heart’s ineffective pumping.

We are so grateful that Tim is now able to return home after nearly 3 weeks in hospital. However, the road ahead is still long and daunting. Tim needs to undergo further medical procedures cardiac rehabilitation, multiple specialist appointments, and lifestyle changes. He is currently unable to return to work and only time will tell what the future holds for his capacity to work. Tim is a sole trader, so has no income protection, and does not gain an income if he is not working. He has lost a months' worth of work and does not know when he will be able to work again

Heidi has been by Tim's side 24/7 supporting him. Now she is navigating her own medical issue, having just undergone orthopaedic surgery herself. With both of them unable to drive and Heidi unable to walk it's going to be a true test of resilience and teamwork.

This fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial pressures for Tim and his family during this challenging time when he is unable to work, covering medical and living expenses.
