My brother Jimmy is facing life in prison for crimes he didn’t commit. Because he has a prior record and was on parole when he was arrested, the state is charging him under Texas’s unforgiving Three Strikes Law. His trial is set for May 19, and without a strong private attorney, he doesn’t have a real chance at justice.

We’re raising $25,000 to hire an experienced defense attorney who believes in Jimmy’s innocence. The lawyer requires a $10,000 retainer to begin work immediately. With the right strategy, there’s a real chance to present key evidence to the district attorney and judge and avoid trial altogether.

Jimmy didn’t commit this crime, but he does need help. His first prison sentence at 18 trapped him in a system that never offered a real path to recovery. He’s struggled with addiction, which is a treatable medical condition, not a moral failure, but people like Jimmy are punished instead of helped. Even after everything he’s endured, he remains grounded, hopeful, and deeply committed to healing and rebuilding his life. He’s also a father.
