Hi beautiful souls,
I am so excited to return to Bali, Indonesia to visit Yayasan Bumi Sehat Foundation (Healthy Mother Earth Foundation) —a non-for-profit birth centre, where I volunteered last September and it was an absolute honour to be there. This time, I would also love to collect some donations from our lovely communities.
Founded by Ibu Robin Lim, Bumi Sehat serves thousands of Balinese mothers and babies each year, providing quality gentle birth services, neonatal care, medical treatment to literally anyone who walks into the clinic.
In Indonesia, infant mortality rate is roughly 18 deaths per 1000 live births and maternal mortality rate at 173/100000 live births (2024). Indonesian mothers are often at high risk of hemorrhaging due to malnutrition. Bumi Sehat provides quality prenatal care and breastfeeding support and focus on supporting infant survival and maternal wellbeing.
Beyond maternity care, the Bumi Sehat team also provides HIV and STD checkups and treatments, youth education, and response to emergencies in rural areas and natural disasters, offering lifesaving support where it's needed most.
Your contribution, big or small, can help ensure safe births, essential medical supplies, and critical aid to many struggling families, and pay the modest salaries of the Indonesian midwives that are working at Bumi Sehat.
A donation of $1500 AUD from a foreign birthing family (because people fly overseas to birth there!) at Bumi Sehat can support 5 more local birthing families.
I am also partnering with Health Shack in Rockingham to collect donations such as ✨small toys, kids vitamins and breast pumps✨ before 22nd March.
All donations will go to Bumi Sehat Foundation.
Join us to make a difference! ❤️ Thank you for your kindness!
With love,
Naphia
