My dear friends, Beth and Mike Sullihan, are devastated over the loss of their 3-year old son, Henry Sullihan on May 22nd, 2025.
As many of us have come to know, grief asks us to be present to the depth of ourselves, even in an ever-moving world that does not know how to give us the space to fall apart and simply be. It gets hard to breathe, and holding it together seems impossible.
During this time, I'd love to give my friends the opportunity to safely be with themselves instead of swim through the pressure of having to hold it together. It was already a struggle before Henry passed, as the house they moved into a year ago did not get properly set up to meet their needs. Trying to operate within this space, be present to their daughter Bernadette, provide for their mother Sheri who lives with them, and continue to show up for themselves all while moving through their grief has become very overwhelming.
The purpose of this is to go beyond memorial expenses, dinners, and general condolences, and figure out how to grieve in a healthy, long-term process in a world where many are left alone months after the tragedy. Your contribution isn't about fixing a problem - it's providing a pathway for this family to be supported through this unimaginable tragedy. This will redefine what communal grieving can look like in a world with few resources when it comes to a young child's death.
Your funds will help the Sullihan's have access to:
1. Paying a professional organizer to restructure their house to make it truly a home, a space where they can feel safe and be with themselves.
2. Purchasing any necessary furniture to keep their home organized and functional.
3. Aftercare services to either help them maintain the organization or emotionally support them (personal grief counseling, craniosacral therapy, whatever they choose feels most appropriate for them).
Your support makes a huge difference to the Sullihan's lives. They are family to me and so many others, and need uplifting during this heartbreaking time.
If you are unable to financially contribute to this fundraiser, please share across your networks. I would be so deeply grateful if we could make this happen together.
