Greetings Community Friends,

As many of you may have heard, a beloved Boulder Waldorf inspired and nature based homeschool program was recently closed due to zoning issues. This past fall, a wise and skillful mentor put everything into a move with her family to the area to work for the program on a two-year contract.

The abrupt ending of the program has been an abrupt ending of Stasha’s income, less a small unemployment allotment. I am hopeful that as a community, we can provide some support for Stasha and her family as they navigate this transition.

For the past 11 years, Stasha has been in deep service as a mother, Waldorf teacher, and community builder. She has given herself fully to the mission of living, soulful education from the inside out. She has taught countless students, as well as serving on school committees regarding social and emotional health and implementing social harmony programs. She has created and directed plays and performances and co-created soulful community wide festivals. It has been a blessing.

While being a Waldorf teacher comes with deep spiritual and growth rewards, it does not necessarily provide major financial rewards or security. It has been challenging to build a large savings and during the last 11 years, she has navigated an unlikely number of school crisis including Covid and online learning, several program closures, makeshift and nomadic campuses, and even supporting a group of first graders through the death of a classmate.

This recent setback of moving to a new state for a new program and position to have it fall apart has been a great blow to her nervous system and financial stability. While she continues to feel her calling of working with children and adults in a teaching role, she also needs some time to rest and recover after over a decade of serving schools in emergency or crisis situations.
