Après deux ans de voyages magiques en Suisse, Simone et Antoine ont amené le centre de retraite nomade NomadShala (vidéo souvenir ici) dans le Sud-Ouest du Portugal où ils ont initié le développement de l’eco-village Essência.
Avec une dizaine d’amis, nous avons acheté une terre magnifique de 19 hectares avec une maison d’hôte qui peut accueillir 14 personnes (bientôt 20)...
... un espace de pratique merveilleux en terre paille avec une baie vitrée donnant sur la forêt de chênes lièges. Découvres la video drone du terrain ici :) C'est magnifique, silencieux et on t'attends pour chanter danser et rigoler ensemble !!
Nous avons lancé le jardin nourricier en permaculture et développé nos capacités d’autonomie avec notre propre production d’eau potable et d’électricité en panneaux solaires et construit des yourtes pour y habiter. Nous sommes aujourd’hui 9 adultes et 6 enfants à y vivre.
Nous sommes en processus d’accueillir encore 8 familles, couples ou individuels en recherche d’une vie dans la sobriété heureuse et sincérement connecté avec Mère Nature.
DEPUIS 2 ANS
Depuis notre installation nous y avons déjà accueillis
- 23 retraites de yoga, breathwork, méditation, permaculture, danse 5 Rythms, guérison du féminin et de tantra,
- une dizaine de personnes en cure personnalisée,
- une douzaine de volontaires,
- quelques ateliers et concerts extraordinaires dont le merveilleux Sam Garrett

Nous souhaitons procéder à une action importante de :
- reforestation en y plantant 1008 arbres d’ici la fin de l’année prochaine,
- creuser un étang de collecte d’eau pour favoriser l’écosystème,
- y construire un dôme que l’on peut acheter en 2eme main pour y faire pousser des arbres médicinaux, fruitiers rares, super-aliments et qui servira de base à l'école de la forêt pour les enfants la journée (9h-15h) (voir notre petite video des travaux en cours ici), ainsi que d’espace de rencontres autours du thème “écologie intérieure et extérieure” avec des ateliers, projections de documentaires, cours d'artisanats, théâtre, concerts et danses l’après midi et le soir (16h-22h).
La pépinière
que nous souhaitons construire ne servira pas seulement le reboisement de cette plaine puis du reste des 19 hectares. Elle sert également de centre de formation pédagogique où des centaines de personnes peuvent découvrir les principes de permaculture, apprendre à planter en créant des écosystèmes sains, productifs... et même à ramener chez eux des arbres à propager là ou il en manque !
Arriver jusque là n’a pas été de tout repos. Nous y avons mis toutes nos économies et travaillons avec une joie et foi assidues ( et parfois en larme aussi ;) souvent du matin au soir pour concrétiser ce rêve avec les challenges que ces grandes aventures Humaines représentent.
En soutenant le projet vous participez à :
- régénérer concrètement un bout de cette belle Terre,
- la construction d'un éco-village inspirant à la biodiversité exemplaire,
- une oasis autonome résiliente où vous êtes les Bienvenus en cas de besoin!... et aussi juste pour le plaisir ;)

- bref à créer un lieu de Vie, de partage et d’apprentissage, tremplin pour de nombreux acteurs grands et petits de la Nouvelle Terre en partageant des savoirs importants d’autonomie, d'harmonie, de souveraineté qui honorent et célèbrent la Vie.

After two years of magical travels in Switzerland, Simone and Antoine brought the NomadShala nomadic retreat center (see video) to Southern Portugal, where they initiated the development of the eco-village Essência.
With a dozen of friends, we bought a magnificent 19-hectare plot of land with a farmhouse that can accommodate 14 people (soon to be 20) and a marvellous straw-earth practice hall space with a bay window overlooking the cork oak forest. Discover the land video here
We've launched a permaculture food garden, developed our self-sufficiency capabilities with our own solar-panel water and electricity production, and built yurts to live in. Today, 9 adults and 6 children live there.
We're in the process of welcoming another 8 families, couples or individuals in search of a slow life sincerely connected with Mother Nature.

Since we moved in, we've already
- welcomed 23 yoga, permaculture (see video), meditation, breath work, 5 Rhythms dance and tantra retreats,
- a dozen people on personalized cures,
- a dozen of volunteers,
- some extraordinary workshops and concerts, including the amazing Sam Garrett (see video)

For NomadShala ecovillage to Re-Open her Wings and Deepen her Roots
WE PLAN TO RE-FOREST AN ARID PLAIN OF THE LAND AND TRANSFORM IT INTO A MULTI-PURPOSE TEMPLE OF HOLISTIC ECOLOGY, A MEDITATION SANCTUARY, A FOREST SCHOOL FOR YOUNG AND OLD, A MAGICAL EVENT SPACE FOR THE INTENSIVE CULTURE OF PEACE, JOY AND LOVE!
What we will do with your precious contribution :
- reforestation by planting 1008 trees by the end of the year,
- install a water collection pond to promote the ecosystem,
build a dome that we can buy second-hand to grow medicinal trees, rare fruit trees, superfoods and serve as a Temple base for a forest school for children during the day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.), see our little video of the Kids Awakening Space under construction here :)
- and as a meeting place around the theme of "holistic ecology from inside out " with workshops, documentary screenings, craft classes, theater, concerts and dancing in the afternoon and evening (4-10 p.m.).
The nursery
we plan to build a nursery that will not only serve to reforest this plain and the rest of the 19 hectares. It will also serve as an educational training center where hundreds of people can discover the principles of permaculture and syntropic agroforestry, learn how to plant to create healthy, productive ecosystems, and even take home trees to propagate life diversity where they're needed.
Getting to this point has not been easy. We've put all our savings into it, and are working hard, often from dawn to dusk, to make this dream come true, with all the challenges that these great human adventures represent.
By supporting the project, you are helping to :
- concretely regenerate a piece of this beautiful Earth,

- creating a place for sharing and learning, a springboard for many of the big and small players in the New Earth, sharing important knowledge of autonomy, harmony and sovereignty that honors and celebrates Life.

- 55'000€ we can proceed with the complete installation, including equipment to build furniture, sound system and educational kitchen area with sprouting station, medicinal herbs, edible flowers and solar dehydrator.

- 65'000€ we can acquire a tepee to bring the Sacred Fire
- 77'000€ we can build a spirulina farm
