Hello everyone,
My name is Eve. I’ve been working toward my degree since I was 5 years old, fueled by faith, grit, and grace. Now, I’m in my final year and need your help to cover the cost of room and board so I can graduate. Every contribution—big or small—brings me closer to the finish line and the future I’ve worked so hard to build.
⸻
Why I’m Asking for Support
Despite maintaining academic excellence, I’ve hit a financial roadblock. Due to recent changes in federal student loan limits, I’ve reached my borrowing cap, just as tuition and housing costs are rising.
I’m raising funds to cover my room and board, which is critical to staying enrolled for my clinical rotations. I currently live too far from campus to commute daily, especially during clinicals, making on-campus housing my only real option.
⸻
My Why: Family, Perseverance, and Purpose
I was raised by a single mother, turned school nurse, who pursued her LPN license later in life. Watching her battle through her own academic minefield, with limited income has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.
She’s had to pause work most summers because LPNs are not typically employed in schools over break, leaving our family with recurring financial burdens. Despite that, she’s never given up—and that resilience is what fuels me every day.
I’m also the first in my family to go to college, and I carry the responsibility of breaking generational cycles. I want to be proof that you can overcome hardship, stay the course, and create something better—not just for yourself, but for everyone who comes after you.
⸻
What I’ve Done to Get This Far
• Maintained a 4.0 GPA at my previous university and earned Dean’s List honors every semester since 2023
• Work two part-time jobs to support myself financially
• Serve as the Treasurer for the MLS Club on campus
• Work at the university library for the past 2.5 years
• Compressed three semesters’ worth of coursework into a single year to fast-track graduation and reduce financial pressure on my family
This past summer alone, I worked two jobs while attending classes twice a week—because I couldn’t afford to lose momentum. I’ve sacrificed rest, comfort, and time to push through, and I’m committed to finishing what I started.
⸻
Why This Means So Much
This degree isn’t just a piece of paper—it’s my way forward. My program has a 100% job placement rate, and once I graduate, I’ll be able to immediately work full-time, support my family, and begin repaying the kindness shown to me.
Working in healthcare has been my dream since I was 5 years old. I’ve made it this far but I can’t make it to the finish line alone.
⸻
How You Can Help
I’m asking for help covering the cost of room and board for my final year. Every dollar helps—whether it’s $5, $50, or a simple share. Your support will make a real difference and bring me one step closer to the life I’ve worked so hard to build.
⸻
Thank You
If you’ve read this far, thank you. Your support—whether financial or emotional—means the world to me. I’m finishing this for my mother, for my family, for every student facing uphill battles, and for the future I refuse to give up on.
Eve
