Support Cabuya during COVID-19
Donation protected
The funds collected are deposited in a US bank account (Michelle Pargh) because Costa Rica’s bank regulations do not allow crowdfunding platforms. All funds will then be transferred to her Costa Rican bank account and will benefit the most vulnerable people of the village of Cabuya.
The COVID-19 outbreak's consequence is hitting hard this small tight-knit community that relies on fishing and tourism. To prepare for the upcoming problems they are facing, we want to help.
Our goal is to collect money to provide groceries and basic medical needs to the most vulnerable families of the village.
Cabuya is a small fishing village that sits at the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. It's as close to the “end of the earth” as it gets in Costa Rica, and is one of the most remote towns. The tourism infrastructure is much less developed, with far fewer hotels, and no hospital nearby.
The funds shall be distributed by the "Mujeres of Cabuya", who formed a support comity "Comité de Apoyo COVID-19 Cabuya", to deal with this crisis. They made a list of families in need and a list of items they will need.
Thank you for your support, any help is most appreciated!
