Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, pray for our family, and consider financially supporting our adoption journey. Our prayer is that the Lord will use us and our journey for His glory. As you read our story, we pray that you will see God’s goodness in every step (even the hard ones) just as we have in these last few months.
In November of 2017, we were ready to start growing our family. A year later, we were no closer to having a baby than when we started, and we were beginning to get discouraged. At that point, our doctor began looking into fertility issues, and it was discovered that Christina has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which makes it difficult to get pregnant. Over the next few months, as we began to make a plan with our doctor, we started to wonder and even pray, asking the Lord if he put this roadblock in front of us to turn us in another direction. Years before we began trying to grow our family, we knew the Lord had called us to adopt at some point, but we always figured it would be after we had biological children. Was the Lord wanting us to pursue adoption now?!?
After a series of clear signs and convictions, it became evident to us that God was indeed leading us to start the adoption process now. During this time, we have felt God speaking to us in a powerful way that we have only ever experienced a few times before. We knew that to not pursue adoption at this point would be disobedience. Adoption is not plan B for us. Plan A has always been to grow our family in accordance with God’s will. It just took a year and a half for us to understand what His will is for us at this point in our lives.
Currently, we are pursuing domestic (a.k.a. within the United States) infant adoption and have chosen to work with Christian Adoption Consultants. As you may be aware, adoption is expensive. Each case varies in price depending on the birth mother’s needs, agency fees, lawyer fees, travel expenses, etc. However, on average, domestic adoptions typically cost $35,000-$45,000. We have personally been making financial sacrifices towards adoption and plan to organize fundraisers in the near future. We also want to open up a platform for anyone who may want to simply make a financial contribution. We also plan to apply for grants, and we are hoping to have all the money raised by the end of October 2019.
Your generous donation will make an eternal impact in a child’s life and in ours. Together, we can bring home baby Stanley! Thank you for your love and support.
Love,
Seth and Christina
