Special Olympic athlete Joseph Warner was selected as one of only two Athletes in Washington state to compete in the World Games in Turin,
Italy in March 2025.

The games are held once every four years, and are the world‘s largest inclusive winter sports event. Thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities compete together on the world stage. Joseph started snowboarding with the West Plains team, where his brother is one of the coaches.
They train with the West Plains Eagles snowboarding team at Mount Spokane and Silver Mountain.

Joseph has been in Special Olympics since age 10. He started with bowling at the suggestion of his speech teacher at Opportunity Elementary after his diagnosis of Asperger‘s syndrome, ADHD, and anxiety to help with social skills. We are raising funds to support his training, new equipment, and for his family to attend the games and support him in Italy; like they have his entire journey and with Special Olympics. His Mom Trish, Sister Kami, Aunt Pam and Uncle Ron, Brother in Law Chris, and Brother Kyle

have all been involved in various ways with Special Olympics. They have been coaches in athletics, gymnastics, snowboarding, snowshoeing, flag football, paddle board, and softball. Kami has been an athlete in swimming, bocce, and volleyball. Kami, Pam, Trish, and Chris were also on the leadership team.

We love and thank you all for this amazing opportunity , especially the West Plains team, for your support . Lets ”Shred the Gnar”

…Joseph
