Hi, my name is Cheri, and I live in Alabama. I’m a mother of two young children, a working professional, and for several years now, I have been in a deep and ongoing relationship with a Palestinian family in Gaza; not just as a donor, but as a friend, and truly as family.

Who this is for:

This campaign supports Mahmoud Raafat Jabr Salma, his wife Esraa, and their two daughters Celine and Sila. I have known Mahmoud and his family for several years. We speak regularly, I manage his YouTube channel, and I have watched his daughters grow up through photos and videos shared over WhatsApp. This is not a stranger. This is family.

Esraa has endured serious health challenges throughout the war and is continuing to recover. Mahmoud’s father-in-law was killed. Their infant son Yaman passed away. Despite all of this, Mahmoud remains a devoted father and husband, doing everything in his power to protect his family.

Where they are:

Mahmoud and his family are currently displaced inside Gaza, living in a tent. They have lost their home and have limited access to clean water, food, medical care, and basic necessities. The war continues with no end in sight, and the situation remains dangerous and unstable every single day.

What the funds will go toward:

All funds raised will go directly toward:

• Daily survival needs: food, clean water, clothing, and medical care for the family

• Securing land or shelter to give the family a stable place to call their own

• Supporting evacuation efforts if and when a safe passage becomes possible

• Rebuilding a future for Celine and Sila

I maintain full records of every transfer for complete transparency. I do not receive any portion of the donations and do not profit in any way from this fundraiser.

Transparency and compliance:

This fundraiser is strictly humanitarian. No funds will be used for weapons, political activity, propaganda, or anything related to armed conflict. The sole purpose of this campaign is the survival, stability, and future of a father, a mother recovering from trauma, and two young girls who deserve a childhood.

Why I’m asking:

I believe we were brought into each other’s lives for a reason. I have done everything I can within my means. But the scale of what this family needs in safety, land, a future requires more than one person. Every donation, every share, every act of compassion brings Celine and Sila one step closer to the life they deserve.
