ELN Charity (Eternal Life For All Nations) is a non-profit organization founded on Christian values, which finds its call to follow true and pure religion before God (James 1:27), and bear witness to the good news of Jesus-Christ. The organization aims to bring charitable help to vulnerable people throughout the nations, without any form of discrimination.
ELN Charité (Eternal Life For All Nations) est une organisation à but non lucratif fondée sur des valeurs chrétiennes, qui trouve son appel à suivre la vraie et pure religion devant Dieu (Jacques 1:27), et à témoigner de la bonne nouvelle de Jésus-Christ. Context / Contexte
During the missionary stay of two members of the ELN team in Kinshasa, DRC in 2019, the members were confronted with the unfortunate realities of child poverty. They saw children left to their own devices, wandering the streets of Kinshasa in search of food and accommodation. What really struck them was when a child came to their table in a outdoor restaurant, asking to eat the fish bones that were left on their plates. Although the idea of helping abandoned children was already one of the organization’s goals, this event particularly touched ELN’s team members. It was a wake-up call and a decisive element in building the orphanage. In addition to the construction of the orphanage, the organization is planning on building a health clinic nearby. The health clinic will serve the children in the orphanage and local residents, and will provide medical and mental health services.
Durant le séjour missionnaire de deux membres de l'équipe ELN à Kinshasa, RDC en 2019, les membres ont été confrontés aux malheureuses réalités de la pauvreté infantile. Ils ont vu des enfants abandonnés à eux même, errant dans les rues de Kinshasa à la recherche de nourriture et de logement. Ce qui les a vraiment marqués, c'est lorsqu'un enfant est venu à leur table dans un restaurant en plein air, demandant à manger les arêtes de poisson qui restaient dans leur assiettes. Bien que l'idée de venir en aide aux enfants abandonnés était déjà dans les objectifs de l’organisation, cet événement a particulièrement touché les membres de l'équipe ELN. Cela fut un réveil et un élément déclencheur dans la construction de l'orphelinat. En plus de la construction de l'orphelinat, l'organisation prévoit de construire une clinique de santé à proximité. La clinique de santé desservira les enfants de l'orphelinat et les résidents locaux, et fournira des services médicaux et de santé mentale.
Project Overview / Aperçu du Projet
ELN Charity is leading a project to build an orphanage and health clinic for orphans in Kinshasa, DRC. The orphanage will initially provide care, support and protection to around 50 children, however, the orphanage will have the capacity to accommodate around 80 children. The project is expected to be completed in (3) stages. The project is expected to take 2 years to complete (depending on donations).
Stage 1: Purchase of 2 hectares in Kinshasa - N'sele. The land will be used to build the orphanage, a health clinic for children and residents, and for raising animals (farm) and growing vegetables; this will be used to feed the orphans. The land's total price is $12,000 CAD.
Stage 2: The construction of the orphanage and health clinic.
Budget Summary:
Stage 3: The functioning, administration and management (fees and expenses) of the orphanage and health clinic (for the first year of operation). For this stage, the remaining amount from the budget is allocated.

L'orphelinat fournira des soins, un soutien et une protection à environ 50 enfants dans un premier temps, mais l'orphelinat aura la capacité d'accueillir environ 80 enfants. Le projet devrait être achevé en (3) étapes. Le projet devrait durer de 1.5 à 2 ans (dépendamment des dons).
