The Shaban Foundation, a nonprofit in Lahore, distributed food, clothing, and other necessities to people with disabilities in the Youhanabad neighborhood. These disabled residents, primarily youth, were often neglected, abused, or in impoverished living conditions.

Established in 2013, the Shaban Foundation was a non-profit organization that operated in Lahore, Pakistan and served disabled residents in the Youhanabad neighborhood until 2015, when a bombing in the neighborhood forced the organization to halt operations.

The Shaban Foundation hosted events for the local disabled community, primarily youth. These events included the distribution of food and clothes, games, and holiday celebrations. In a society where disabled people are often pushed aside, the Shaban Foundation sought out these individuals with love, respect, and humility.

Now, 10 years later, the Shaban Foundation is ready to continue serving the community’s disabled residents.

The Shaban Foundation was created by Shahzad and Shabana Alam after the birth of their son Shaban, who has Down syndrome. Facing the struggles of raising Shaban in an unaccommodating society, the Alams were inspired to reach out and serve other disabled individuals in their area.

Since Shaban Foundation's closing, Shahzad and Shabana have been funding food distributions personally, but this is becoming increasingly difficult. Your contribution would help to restore a glimmer of compassion amongst the residents of Youhanabad.
