Several years ago I visited Costa Rica as an American citizen. During my visit I was witness to a horrific issue of sex trafficking. At that time I didn’t know just how prevalent the concern was, or that it would impact the trajectory of my life forever.  As I dove deeper I learned just how MASSIVE the problem was and there was no way I could possibly turn a blind eye. Sex trafficking accounts for 33% of Costa Rica’s tourism revenue, with a majority of the perpetrators traveling from the United States. To make matters worse, the Costa Rican government does not allocate any resources to help victims currently.

Over the last 10 years, Saving Hearts Together has served survivors of sex trafficking with astounding success. Our program is dedicated to rehabilitating these amazing young women with proven therapies and unconditional support. Saving Hearts Together is restoring the lives of children in Costa Rica who have been removed from the sex trade by providing a live-in program that meets their physical, emotional, psychological, and educational needs. And we need your help.

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Saving Hearts Together houses, educates, and rehabilitates victims of sex trafficking. Many victims are sold at a young age and never receive an education which keeps them stuck in the sex trade in order to survive. This is known as survival sex, and the effects ripple through generations. Victims range from infants on up; the younger the victim, the higher their price tag, it can be in the thousands (how and why could this happen?). As humanity, we cannot continue to look the other way! This is why we urgently NEED your help and support.

Due to the severity of the problem, we MUST expand our residential and therapeutic operation to serve 100 girls and their children (again: we are the ONLY facility rehabilitating these girls in Costa Rica currently). We are their only hope. Donations go directly toward building housing, therapy centers, classrooms, and salaries for therapists and support staff, as well as food and supplies. Funds are imperative to give these girls and young women what they need to become whole, thriving individuals… permanently FREE from the sex trade.

We, as a society CANNOT look the other way any longer. Together we can make their dreams a reality. We urgently require funds: one-time donation, corporate and ongoing contributions in order to expand our operation. All donations are tax deductible through our non-profit organization registered with the IRS in the USA.
