Help Keep Our Family in Our Home

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our story. My name is Jessie, and for the past five years, my boys and I have called our home our safe haven. In that time, we've faced many challenges—COVID, illness, a difficult divorce—and watched as our family structure transformed in ways we never anticipated. Through it all, I've done our best to stay strong and create a stable, loving environment for my children.

Now, I'm in the final stages of refinancing our home to remove my ex-husband’s name and ensure that my boys and I can continue to live here. Last June, I was almost finished with the process, but a legal issue caused a major setback. I had to use all my savings to go to court to resolve the issue. Thankfully, the judge ruled in our favor, finding the person involved in contempt of court for 4 out of 5 charges, and I am now able to proceed with the refinance. However, with everything that’s happened, my savings are completely gone.

On top of that, the housing market took a hit during COVID, and now there is a significant balloon payment that's keeping me from being able to cover the closing costs. Despite working two full-time jobs and a part-time one, I'm still falling short. That’s why I’m reaching out for help.

I’m seeking between $1,000 and $7,000 to cover the closing costs and the money that needs to be in my bank account to close this refinance. This will allow us to stay in the home we've worked so hard to build and prevent us from losing the only real stable home my boys have ever known.
