TODAY: A knock on my ailing Mother's door proved to be an Official Representative from the Shasta County Tax Collector's Office. They informed her that if her property taxes are not paid IN FULL by mid-February 2018 - she will be EVICTED and lose the only home she has / our family home.
WHAT HAPPENED: Mother's debilitating illness rapidly increased and she was unable to pay her home's property taxes for more than 5 years.
2017: Compounded by the sudden, tragic deaths of her only sister and favorite niece, a house fire (with no insurance), and her own hospitalization in 2017 brought other complications which made it impossible to make her tax payment on time.
IMMEDIATELY: On behalf of my ailing Mother, I seek to raise at least, the minimum required by the Tax Collector to stop her home from being auctioned off and keep her safely housed. The minimum payment due is: $13,100 which will go directly to the Shasta Co. Tax Collector.
DEADLINE: February 14th 2018 - TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AND PAY TAX COLLECTOR A MINIMUM OF: $13,100 TO PREVENT HOMELOSS AND EVICTION.
Any funds donated above and beyond will go toward:
1) Home repairs:
- Fire Damage estimated at $75,000. (+)
- Hot Water Heater with installation est. $750.
- Oven with Stove Top replacement estimated at $500. - Broken water pipes (cost unknown at this time) - Delapidated wooden stilt deck ($unknown at this time)
2) Mother's Outstanding Medical Bills: - Approx. $100,000
3) Property Taxes and any outstanding Tax Liens - Approx. $9,000 + Dec. 2017 year approx. $1,500
