For generations, kids have ridden dirt bikes on the land in Wyoming, Rhode Island that is now Buttonwoods Motocross. In 2021, we did the right thing: we turned that historic riding spot into the state’s first and ONLY fully legal, permitted track. Today, the Rhode Island DEM is trying to shut us down forever with significant wetlands fines – on land right next to an old, uncapped landfill they’ve ignored for 50 years.
We have ZERO neighbor complaints in 4 years, support from Richmond Police (“juvenile dirt-bike calls dropped dramatically since Buttonwoods opened”), and hundreds of kids and families every single weekend. Kids who would otherwise have nowhere legal to ride now have a safe, welcoming place. DEM routinely works out deals with solar farms, golf courses, and housing developers. We’re just asking for the same fair chance they gave the trails at Goddard Park decades ago.
Every dollar you give goes straight to paying or drastically reducing the fines, legal and engineering costs to get a permanent permit, and keeping the gates open for Rhode Island kids. If we lose Buttonwoods, there is literally no legal place left in the entire state to ride a dirt bike. Please help us save the one place Rhode Island kids can ride safely and legally. #KeepButtonwoodsOpen
every dollar donated will go directly to the legal battle against DEM
