Darusalam Society is a community-based non-profit organization. Its primary aim is to establish a center for the Muslim community in North East Melbourne to access religious services, Islamic education, and recreational facilities.
Darusalam Society signed a Musharakhah contract with EFSOL in 2016 to receive an amount of $1 million that was used to purchase the building that houses Darusalam Centre. The monthly repayment on this contract is $7,400. At the time of signing the contract.
Due to the current crisis in Victoria, along with several other factors, we have reached a position where we can no longer keep up with repayments. As EFSOL has since gone into liquidation and in the process of being wound-up. we have no avenues to renegotiate healthy terms. We are sending this letter to you to assist us in getting through this difficult time. We are looking to raise a total of $976,000 to exit this agreement and avoid foreclosure to EFSOL, which is now run by liquidators.
We have taken numbers of steps to resolve the current predicament that Darusalam Society is in.
We have approached Islamic finance providers to consider financing solutions. Unfortunately, both financial institutions have declined our applications.
We are seeking support from you to help save Darusalam Centre.
If you share our story with your followers and people you know, Allah gave them wealth it will be our hope to save our Masjid and Centre.
We have also Commenced Construction on the centre, and we are looking to raise funds to realise the complete dream.
