Reunite This Family

Please consider a donation to help reunite this loving family. Sarah and Brooks have been married for 13 years. They are raising their 3 young children, and also raised Brooks' now adult daughter together, beginning when she was 5 years old. Brooks is employed as a roofer, while Sarah is a stay at home mom. They are the proud parents of a 1st grader, a preschooler, and a toddler, as well as dad and step-mom to a 19 year old daughter. Their 2 young daughters love taking dance lessons, singing, playing outside, and making crafts. Their 2 year old son is also a fan of the outdoors, with his ride along cars, and playing in the dirt, and groovin' along to music on the radio -- he lights up a room with his outgoing, happy personality. Mom is an active supporter of valley families in crisis, and is always the first to volunteer when someone else needs her help -- even someone she has never met.

Their children were removed by Arizona DCS on Tuesday, February 26 after they refused to take their 2 year old to the ER for a fever. They had been using Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine as their primary care provider for almost 6 months, following the retirement of their pediatrician. After an illness infected their entire family, Sarah took their youngest to SCNM to have him checked. The child's temperature at the visit was recorded as both 103 and 105, so she was advised to take him to an ER to rule out meningitis. Since Sarah had never been shown the thermometer at the clinic, she left the appointment and immediately took her son's temperature, which was under 103. Her son was happy and playful in his car seat, so she called SCNM to ask if she could return for treatment instead of taking him to the ER, since his temperature was dropping. They refused to see him again, and again asked her to take him to the ER. When she instead took him home, SCNM reported her to DCS. After midnight, Chandler Police broke down their front door and seized all 3 young children, reporting that the house was cluttered, there was vomit in one child's bed, and an unsecured firearm was found in the parent's bedroom. The 2 year old was sleeping in his mother's arms, with a fever that was now down to 100.7 at the time of removal (confirmed by Chandler Fire Department).

The family has nothing to hide, which is why they invited the media into their home to tell their story and to show that the clutter consisted of unfolded clean laundry on the couch and displaced furnishings from the assembly of 2 brand new beds for their daughters. The firearm had not been in working condition for over 3 years. They also explained that it was a different child who had vomited in her bed, from coughing. That child had been moved to sleep elsewhere so that the bed could be cleaned, when the police broke down their door.

Donations from the public would be greatly appreciated, to help the family with legal fees, and costs associated, as they fight to reunite their family back together. When they have their children back home again -- Sarah wants everyone to know that in the case of any excess funds, they will donate to another family in need.
