Your tax-deductible donation will help the BID create a vibrant space for the community and a safe zone of youth activities, entertainment, shopping, and outdoor dining. The programming will run from June through August, we'll close vehicle traffic on Sunset Park's 5th Avenue from 39th to 42nd Streets from 4 pm to 10 pm and invite artists, musicians, and youth groups to perform and run free activities. Exciting new events to look forward to this year:
• Sunset Salsa Dancing
• Movies Under the Stars
• Brooklyn Pride
• Art walk
• Latin Jazz
• Tae Kwon Do
The Sunset Park BID, a 501(c) nonprofit organization needs sponsorship & donations. We need to reach our community fundraising goal of $25,000 to pay for the program. Funds will be spent on:
• Paid staff from Sunset Park to run the events, and ensure safety
• Programming for children & the community
• Street barriers
• Safety equipment for staff
• Beautification of streets and tree pits
• Banners, marketing, & signage
Previous community participants include:
Brooklyn Public Library, Street Labs, Drag Queen Story Hour, Voces Ciudadanas, Vision Futuro, local schools and health services organizations, Mixteca, Sunset Park Rocks!, Young Dancers in Repertory, and Regina Opera.
About Us:
The Sunset Park Business Improvement District (BID) supports local small businesses and is dedicated to improving our neighborhood's quality of life. We install holiday lights on the avenue, produce festivals and events, cover graffiti, pick up trash, and fight for our mom & pop shops to be successful. We've been serving Sunset Park for over 25 years. We are a non-profit organization.

-Donations to the Sunset Park BID are tax-deductible
-NYC is likely to provide modest financial support for Open Streets, but not nearly enough for the program Sunset Park deserves
-In-kind donations and event sponsorships are available
