We're fundraising to recoup some of the losses from the flash flooding in Dallas this week. Much of Deep Ellum and parts of downtown were underwater, with Gibson Lofts being one of the areas affected. The flood waters burst through one of the entryways and rose quickly, trapping the tenants inside their lofts. Reports show a total of 18" in 2 hours, but Steph's camera shows her loft completely flooding within 7 minutes.

Many of the tenants are artists and creatives. Most ran their businesses or at least kept their business equipment/supplies in their loft. It's going to be a long road to recovery for most and nearly impossible for some. Steph Grant Studios suffered a near-total business loss. There's a complete interruption of all income, physical space, and equipment. Additionally, the Promote Love Movement lost a majority of the promotional materials, physical products, paperwork, and more.

It's taken over a decade of hard work to get our queer-owned and operated business and non-profit to this point, and we're confident we can get back to work with a little help from our friends.

I created this on behalf of Steph and the studio, and all funds donated will be deposited straight into the business account. Anything above our goal will be donated to other former tenants of Gibson Lofts or fundraisers that benefit this community that's lost so much.
