Northern Heart and Soul CIC operating Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow CommUnity are a community association that covers the ward of Wigan West.

We're made up of the amazing people who live here; local groups, associations and community minded businesses and local organisations.

We work together to make Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow the best it can be, now, and, in the future.

We do this by connecting people, helping people grow, having fun together and making the best use of parks, spaces and buildings.

We currently rent a building which provides a warm and welcoming safe space for people from all walks of life to chat together. This space has become so welcoming that it is no longer big enough to host our public living room and diverse spaces.

Recently, a very popular local pub closed down. We would like to save this building and turn it into a multi-functional community hub which will also provide an income for the community, through the attached flats. Owning this building will also mean that the money that we currently spend on rent can be invested into the community, where it belongs. It also has an outdoor space which we know that our community love, as well as having plenty space for a public living room, office space and even functions. Lots of potential! If we aren't successful in saving this building, we will continue our search for the perfect space for our ever growing community group.
