Hi my name is Alfie, I have run the Pleasure Island Archive since 2018 which aims to preserve the history of Pleasure Island Theme Park Cleethorpes after its unfortunate closure back in 2016.
One of the most iconic items from the park has recently come up for auction, the Tinkaboo Town Throne which I’m sure many will remember posing for a photograph with. I think this would be the perfect opportunity to pay homage to Pleasure Island and its 23 years of memory’s!
This project will include
- Purchasing the chair at auction
- Restoration works
- Returning the chair as an installation in Cleethorpes either permanently or to be displayed annually.
This go fund me page has been set up simply to help purchase the item in the hopes it can be returned to Cleethorpes to pay tribute to the beloved Theme Park.
Restoration works would be funded and carried out by the Pleasure Island Archive.
The auction of which the chair is a part of is on the 8th July.
Edit : We reached the first goal of 500! we’ve now increased this to £600 to go towards the auctioneer fees and a the possibility of a bidding battle breaking out.
