Marie Wynn Memorial Service and Heartfelt Gratitude
Update: January 9, 2026
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
With deeply felt emotions, we wish to express our profound gratitude to everyone who attended Marie’s memorial service on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and to all who reached out with their condolences. Your presence, thoughts, and prayers have provided immense comfort to the family during this heartbreaking and difficult time of loss.
The service was a beautiful tribute to a remarkable woman. Below, we have shared a small collection of photos of Marie that were displayed and of the folded American flag presented for her service in the United States Navy. These images capture the light and love she brought into the world, and we hope they bring warmth to your hearts as they did ours during the service.
We continue to be sustained by your love and support. Your continued good thoughts, prayers, and generosity are a testament to the community surrounding us, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
With love and gratitude,
The Family of Marie Wynn

UPDATE 12/26/2025: We are deeply saddened to share that Marie Wynn’s earthly journey concluded peacefully this morning, December 26, 2025, at 9:15 am. She was at home, enveloped in the love of her devoted husband of 22 years, Terry Wynn, and their two daughters, Sarah and Arianna. We are profoundly grateful for the extraordinary outpouring of love, care, support, prayers, and generous donations. Your contributions brought immense comfort to Marie and her family throughout this difficult time.
Details regarding a memorial service will be determined and shared at a later date. In the interim, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, you consider making a donation of any amount to this GoFundMe fundraiser to help with final and unexpected expenses, as they received disappointing news today from Emory University, declining to accept Marie’s body for research, as Marie wished and arranged for, due to the amount of built up fluid in her body. Your continued support will help provide relief for the family’s plans in the final resting arrangements, and cherished comfort.
Original Story:
My mom has always been the rock of our family—a selfless, caring person who would drop everything to help someone in need. Now, I need your help. To be her primary caregiver and ensure she receives round-the-clock attention at home, I have made the difficult decision to leave my job. While being by her side is exactly where I want and need to be, the loss of my income, with the huge rise of living costs, have created a serious and overwhelming financial strain for me to maintain paying my cost of living expenses. I have exhausted my savings, I simply cannot manage this burden alone.
I have set a goal of $10,000 to help cover:
• Ongoing out-of-pocket expenses of my basic living expenses and costs.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference and help alleviate the pressure so that l can focus on what matters most: spending precious time with my mom. If you aren't able to donate, simply sharing our story with your network would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please, if you don’t contribute to the donations here, on GoFundMe, feel free to provide your check, Payable to: Sarah Houge. Thank you.
