In honor of Tony Watkins and the extraordinary life of faith, service, and leadership he shared with so many, this GoFundMe has been established by his family, at the request of his friends, to support his family with end-of-life expenses.

Tony passed away at home on May 8, 2026, peacefully, yet unexpectedly, from heart failure. He left behind a legacy that will continue to impact lives for generations to come. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, ordained minister, veteran, mentor, and respected nonprofit leader, Tony dedicated his life to serving others with wisdom, compassion, humility, and unwavering faith.

As the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation of West Kentucky for 25 years, Tony helped shape philanthropy across western Kentucky and beyond. Through his leadership, countless nonprofits, ministries, students, and families were supported and strengthened. He was instrumental in advancing charitable giving initiatives that raised millions of dollars for community impact and helped organizations build sustainable futures. He was especially known for his work establishing the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit and administering the Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities, which raised more than $10 million for Paducah-area nonprofits under his leadership. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony was best known for his kindness and compassion, with a smile that could light up a room.

Above all else, Tony cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. As we walk through this season of grief and transition, your prayers, encouragement, and support mean more than words can express.
