It's in TAIWAN~~ (Beautiful Formosa)
A devastating typhoon swept away the Amis Indigenous Community in GuangFu township, Hualien, Taiwan.
Many of you know I have been volunteering at the Indigenous Communities in Taiwan since 2006, and established Kaixin Workshop Association “開心學堂” in 2014 to support providing the world vision to the indigenous children in the Hualien (花蓮) area in Taiwan.
On September 23, 2025, a devastating typhoon caused the Barrier Lake at Matai’an Creek (馬太鞍溪) in Hualien, TAIWAN to collapse. A wall of water and mud surged into Guangfu (光復) Township, flooding homes, destroying bridges and roads, and leaving families stranded with nothing.
The flood went 2-stories high in less than 3 minutes, many can only escaped to the roof-top crying out for help. The power was out and my friend's 95 years old mom was out of oxygen produced by the tank, and luckily was rescued to send to the hospital the next morning.
For me, this is more than just news—I know many of these indigenous families. Their homes washed away overnight; they feared and teared as they searched for safety.
These are my Amis Indigenous friends; They are my family and it's my community,
Every drop of help counts.
Let’s rebuild Guangfu Township, in Hualine, Taiwan------TOGETHER.
Please “Stand with us” to help Hualien “RISE” again.
