Hi, my name is Abbi Melton, and I’m raising money to support my incredible mom as she fights Stage 4 HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer—an aggressive and advanced form of breast cancer.

Right now, she’s going through treatments that are both physically and emotionally draining. The medicine leaves her exhausted, and she’s constantly traveling for doctor’s appointments, weekly infusions, and staying informed about her treatment options. Through all of this, she’s still trying to work—but it’s just not possible the way it used to be.

My mom is a real estate broker and also does hair a couple of days a week for the residents of a local nursing home. She’s always been someone who shows up for others—whether it’s her clients, the people she cares for, her family, or her grandbabies. She’s the strongest, most selfless person I know.

Unfortunately, many of her treatments are not covered by insurance. She has weekly infusions costing around $900, medications that are $500 a month, and she has to travel to Kansas City regularly, which adds about $400 a month in gas, lodging, and meals. These costs add up quickly and are becoming overwhelming.

My goal with this fundraiser is simple: to take the pressure off. I want her to be able to focus on healing, not hustling. She shouldn’t have to worry about bills while she’s fighting for her life.
