On August 14, 2025, our beloved mom, Pamela “Margaret” Capps took her last breath at home in Borrego Springs. Her passing was sudden, and the heartbreak of losing her has been overwhelming for our family. She was the beloved “Nana”, known for her sense of humor, love of the lord, fun personality and the way she loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart.

We are planning to honor her life with a cremation and simple celebration of life in both Oregon and California, so friends and family in the places she loved can come together to remember her.

Many people have asked about sending flowers or meals. Since my dad can only receive mail at a P.O. Box (even my mom’s ashes must arrive there), those generous gestures aren’t possible. Instead, we are setting up this GoFundMe for those who wish to support our family in a truly meaningful way.

The greatest need right now is helping my dad, who is navigating this loss with his own health challenges, including memory and mobility issues, heart concerns, and limited income through Social Security. My parents’ home in Borrego Springs has urgent safety repairs — especially electrical work to prevent fire risk — and needs work so that he can eventually move somewhere safer and more affordable. In addition, his car is no longer reliable, leaving him isolated nearly 70 miles from the nearest major city.
