I’m Reya, I'm 8 years old and I'm taking on two special challenges to help two charities that mean a lot to me.
First, I’ll be donating 12 inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust. They use donated hair to make real wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair because of cancer or other illnesses. These wigs help children feel more confident and happy at a really difficult time in their lives. I haven't had short hair since I was a baby and have been growing it so it can be long enough to donate.
Second, I’ll be cycling 12 miles in 1 day to raise money for Cosmic (Children of St Mary’s & Queen Charlotte's Intensive Care). Cosmic supports seriously ill children and their families by funding vital equipment, research, and family support services. They also gave me life-saving treatment when I was a new-born, so this charity is very special to me. I want to give back and help other children get the same care and support that I was lucky enough to receive.
I've just got a new "big" bike and will be cycling in Roxeth park for 12 miles in 1 day - the longest I have ever cycled! The planned date at time is 1st November at 1pm (weather permitting) so if you can, please come down to show your support!
Every penny really does make a difference – thank you so much in advance for supporting me!
We will split the funds between Little Princess Trust and Cosmic. Our target for Little Princess trust is £700 (the cost of making a wig from my donated hair) and the rest will go to Cosmic.
