The KRCH has been the center of activity for Klamath River, CA (and several surrounding small communities) since 1947. Over the years, it has been the site for Fundraisers for notable longtime residents, Weddings, Celebrations of Life, Biannual Old Time Turkey Shoots, Bingo, Family Fun Days, Holiday and Spring Craft Fairs, Flea Markets, Ho Ho Holiday Community Party, School Plays and Programs, and monthly Breakfasts with special occasions like Mother's & Father's Day Brunches.

It has also been a home for the Klamath River Fire Company training sessions, KRFC Auxiliary twice monthly Taco Tuesdays, Cowboy Poet Dinners, Blackberry Festivals, Tupperware and Pampered Chef parties and many other fundraising events.

The KRCH is a location for monthly USDA Commodities giveaways under the Great Northern Community Services and 'Free the Need' weekly food giveaways, school supplies and Holiday Turkey boxes. It is a COS approved class site and a preapproved Fire Camp location.

The Board of Directors signed up with Cal Trans for the 'Adopt-a-Highway' Program in 2022 and have completed 2 sessions of cleanup on their 4 mile section of Highway 96.

Klamath River Fire Company Chief Janet Jones said it best in an interview with Damon Arthur of the Redding Record Searchlight. "If you wanted to join a Taco Tuesday get-together, get married or play Bingo, the Klamath River Community Hall was where it happened. But not anymore.

The McKinney Fire destroyed the hub of the tiny town of Klamath River, along Highway 96 west of Yreka.

There are numerous individual stories of how the devastating fire swept through Klamath River over the weekend, sending residents fleeing from their homes.

But the Community Hall was the center of town activity, where residents shared their lives, attended classes, sat down and ate together, held community meetings and played pool.
