Hello! My name is Eli, Im a 25 yr old Trans Dad located in the US right now. I have an incredibly cool 3 month old and a loving Fiancée, and we have been staying in a single bedroom with a half bath

since before we gave birth. Our current home is a hoarders house, with fire and health hazards everywhere, to the point we use exclusively our bathroom and room for kitchen items, dishes, food, etc. Its been over two years of desperately trying to find housing, being denied and waitlisted and lotteried for anything in our income range, and eventually added a head to the household in the process of waiting. The state of the country we live in is not a safe one for Trans people, let alone ones with children, and Id already had been essentially re-closeted for most of my pregnancy because the people we are stuck surrounded by simply prefer their choice to view me as a woman to my own definition of myself. My family wants to leave where we are, my partner wants to call me husband and I want my daughter to be able to call me ‘Dad’ safely at school, in public and at home. We deserve to live our lives safely, healthily and happy. So Thank you for being here and thank you for seeing us.
