Pulling for Creeslough

Hi my name is John Gallagher, I'm a corporal in the Irish Defence Forces currently serving overseas in Syria with the 66th Infantry Group UNDOF. My home unit is the 28th Inf Bn Finner camp Ballyshannon Co. Donegal. I'm a native of Downings/Carrigart, Creeslough being my neighbouring village which i would visit regularly with my family.

On 07 October 2022 a tragic incident occurred were a fatal explosion shook and shattered the local community of this small village in North Co Donegal were 10 people sadly lost their lives.
Three of our Comrades serving within the defence forces lost family members in this terrifying disaster. This really brought it home to me and this is why myself and the members of the 66th Inf Group UNDOF and would like to do something to offer our support and condolences to the people of Creeslough.

On the 17th of January 2023 it's our intent to host a challenge were 3 platoons will compete against each other pulling a 18 tonne Mowag piranha 3 APC (Armoured personal carrier) over a distance 100m's in the fastest time to claim the title of the strongest Platoon! 1st and 2nd mechanised platoons and CSG/RECCE will all compete against each other in teams of 20 per pull in the fastest time in order to help and aid the people of Creeslough to move forward and let them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
All money raised will be in aid of the Creeslough Community.
