We, Jurriaan, Marc, and Michiel will drive to the Northcape during the Superlative Baltic Rally , raising money for Stichting Vaarwens . 8000km, 16 days, no GPS and bitter cold temperatures.
Stichting Vaarwens ( www.stichtingvaarwens.nl ) makes wishes come true of terminally ill people, who for maybe the last time, love to spend a day on the water with their loved ones. Stichting Vaarwens can provide.
Their motto:
The disease stays ashore, the experience priceless, the memories remain.
A day includes full transport to and from the quayside for the patient and his/her loved ones, food and drinks, the crew of the vessel, fuel, and mobilization to a suitable location closest to the patient.
With our donations, stitching Vaarwens can maintain their vessels, but also organize even more sailings with patience longing for a day at the water in the last stages of their lives. A beautiful objective, right?
