A Community's Love for the Porto Family after house fire

Dear friends, fellow neighbors, and our beloved community,

Our hearts are heavy as we share the horrible tragedy that has struck our dear neighbors and close friends - Luke, Brooke, Claire and Chloe (plus their 3 dogs). The beautiful home they worked so hard to create was destroyed by flames in a matter of moments.

We’ve all seen the tragic fires happening on the west coast, but today we experienced it right here in our very own neighborhood. We stood with them on the side of the road as the roof collapsed. Watching helplessly as their bedrooms burned. After the flames were put out by firefighters and the smoke had cleared, we entered the home with them to find total devastation. Everything covered in layers of burned debris, soot and water.

This family poured their hearts, time, and hard-earned money into their home, making it a warm and welcoming place not only for themselves but for everyone who crossed their doorstep. We have spent countless days and nights inside of their home. It was always filled with laughter and joy. But now that joy has turned into heartache.

The Porto family isn’t just our neighbor, they are part of the fabric of this community. They’ve always been there for others, lending a helping hand, a warm smile, and a kind word. Now, it’s our turn to rally around them in their time of need.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help the Porto family get through this difficult time and to cover any uninsured losses. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference… or if you are not at a place to donate, words of kindness and well wishes are greatly appreciated.

Let’s show them that they are not alone, that this community stands strong with them, and that we will help them find hope and light during these hard times. Together, we can make a difference for a family who means so much to so many.
