My name is Phil Gross and I'm running for a Trustee Seat in Historic New Castle, Delaware. I'm committed to making your voice heard. Like you, I would like to see my community safer and more vibrant, a more unified city government, an increase of carefully chosen business's and forge a future filled with unlimited promise for residents and visitors.
After living here in Historic New Castle for almost 10 years, I've decided to run for a Trustee seat. In the years living here, I've seen a lot of change, some good and some not and certainly some infighting between City Council and some distrust between the residents of Historic New Castle and the Trust.
With my 30 years of running a family lighting business, Gross Lighting Center and experience as a community/organizational leader, serving on boards and city committees as well as helping with many city events, I feel that I can help to make a difference in the City of New Castle by serving as a trustee. The trustee position is basically a volunteer position and labor of love since the Trustee position only pays its elected board members an ear of corn yearly,
In the past, I have been a person that has been able to "rally the troops" to work for the common good of an organization and the community. This being said, I would hope to be able to build the residents trust, bring the trustees & council closer together and bring your ideas to the table thus improving the quality of life in our community and increase the appeal for visitors. Since the beginning in 1701, of the New Castle Common, the goal is to protect & maintain what we have today and preserve it going into the future. I firmly share these ideals and would be the right person for a Trustee position.
With that being said, to get into office to help make a difference, I must purchase yard signs, door hang cards and cards to hand out as I go through the neighborhoods speaking with people about their needs, views and opinions. This is where I need your help .... I can't do it alone. I could REALLY use your help financially and time wise as a volunteer.
