Hello all, I would first like to thank you for showing interest in this and wondering what I would be raising funds for. I am a second year student at Los Angeles Chiropractic College and a few weeks ago was approached by a fellow student about attending a mission trip in December 2013 to serve the people of Peru and that was all I needed to hear, my answer was an enthusiastic "YES".
The trip is put on by The Best Mission Trip Ever where I, along with 11 other students and a number of Doctors, will be able to give, love, and serve people in need by providing them with chiropractic care. It is both humbling and empowering to know I can travel anywhere in the world to provide healthcare and restore quality of life with just two tools, my hands.
I have been told to come prepared and energized for people come from hundreds of miles away with a line out the door for the entire week. My goals are to increase quality of life for the Peruvians, provide healthcare to those with little to no use of a primary physician, and give disease intervention and most importantly disease prevention. I plan on doing all this by restoring proper function of the neuromusculoskeletal system through adjustments and the many other chiropractic modalities. Simply put, when something does not have proper structure (subluxation) it does not have proper function, and given enough time dis-ease will occur.
The majority of funds raised would be going towards airfare with the rest for hostel stay, food, and donations to the health center. Thank you in advance for giving me this opportunity to fulfill my purpose, the chance to improve as a healthcare provider in my early career, and the ability to provide the people of Peru the best quality of life they can have.
I will be more than happy to document and share my experience with all and hopefully there will be many more trips in the near future. Thank you!
