My name is Carlos Riera, founder of Fundación Yo Pinto Una Sonrisa, a nonprofit organization based in Panama. Since 2010, we have provided humanitarian assistance and emergency response across the country.
In the early hours of October 10, our volunteer team left Panama City on a six-hour journey to communities in southern Soná, in the province of Veraguas, to support families affected by the earthquake. Since then, we have been providing food, medicine, medical care, and psychological support. To date, we have assisted more than 2,000 people whose homes were completely destroyed.
This fundraiser is specifically dedicated to purchasing medical supplies and medicines, and covering emergency transportation for patients from these remote communities to the nearest hospital—a journey that can take four hours.
Your donation helps us provide essential care and get people to a hospital when they urgently need treatment. Please support this campaign and share it so we can continue reaching families who need assistance.
To see our work firsthand, follow us on Instagram at [@ypusonrisa](https://www.instagram.com/ypusonrisa/), where we share daily updates from the communities.
Thank you for helping us bring care, relief, and hope to families in Panama.
