In April 2017, during Spring Break, eight students and four teachers at Paterson Charter School will volunteer in Haiti for the third year in a row.
It's an experience that's unforgetable as we volunteer at four orphanages, helping over 250 orphans. Last year, due to amazing donors, we were able to purchase a generator for an orphanage who never had electricity before! This year our goal is to buy 50 mattresses, so each orphan will finally have a place to rest their head.
In addition, each orphanage is given water, food, clothing supplies, medical supplies, and tons of love.
This trip is much more than volunteering, too. It's about cultivating my urban students to become leaders, so when they come back to Paterson, NJ--they'll become avid volunteers trying to make the world a better place.
Lastly, I just want to thank you so much for helping out our cause. Not only will your donations help the orphans of Port-au-Prince, Haiti--we buy all of our supplies in Haiti which helps the economy too.
