Help the Newport Beach Firefighters raise money for the 2025 Fire Santa Recipients:
This year we are supporting a foster home caring for nine children ages 6-12. (Whose privacy is being protected) Most of them attend our local Newport Beach elementary schools. These kids have experienced things from domestic violence, trafficking, homelessness, abuse and neglect. The children are provided safe living with support such as mental health services, crisis intervention and medication support. The ultimate goal is to provide specialized, short-term treatment and then transition the youth to a less restrictive setting, such as a family home.
The foster home was selected for Fire Santa not only because of what the children have experienced, but for the staff that pours into them providing 24-hour life changing care. They are ensuring their personal and academic needs are met to ensure success in the program.
They do a lot with limited resources and we plan to support them the best we can.
Let’s rally around this group and give them a holiday season that every child deserves and won't soon forget!
Every year the Newport Beach Fire Firefighters adopts a local family during the Christmas season through our Fire Santa Program. Our goal has always been to extend our service to the community we already serve by assisting those families who are unable to support themselves due to extenuating circumstances.
This program started 20 years ago with the idea of helping a child / children to receive everything they would want for Christmas.(Christmas tree, gifts, Christmas dinner, decorations, etc.) throughout the entire month of December. What we found is that there was SO much more that these families needed. This quickly became our primary focus. With a large focus of fundraising through community support we have completed home remodels, months worth of groceries, job placement and paying off medical bills or rent checks to avoid eviction.
We always conclude each year with a check made out to the family we serve. Although the tasks are different every year, the one remaining constant is the enormous impact our family / community can make to the family we serve. This year is turning out to be no exception.
