3/12/25 Update: Between this and other sources, I’ve been able to save up $10,000 for a new car. I’d like to be able to buy a car without financing. Please assist if you can.

My sister and I took care of our father in his last years. As the person responsible for running errands and taking him to his doctor appointments, I drove my father’s 2021 Kia Sportage (while I gave my older Honda to my niece). When my father died on October 19th 2024, the plan was for me to take over the car payments.

Unfortunately, it was hit while parked in front of our house by an uninsured driver and was totaled. Since I don’t have a trade-in, I have been saving money for a down payment on a new car, but it’s going slower than I had hoped.
