Mother’s Day Appeal: SoS Transfer Bags Pilgrim NNU
SoS Pilgrim - Call to Action has been providing care boxes & bags to neonatal families since 2018. Based on our personal experiences of unexpectedly having a premature or very poorly baby who has been transferred to another hospital far away , we work with the neonatal team at Pilgrim to provide these very useful care packages at what can be an extremely difficult, emotional, physical and practically-challenging time,
Even the simplest of things help, especially when the baby has arrived with no warning that they will be early or so poorly. It can leave parents feeling helpless, but these gift bags provide an emotional and practical boost and help bring the joy of a new baby back, in the middle of lots of unfamiliar situations.
We have had amazing support to keep this scheme going since 2018, and now in2021, we need your help please to makesure we can deliver 20 more boxes/bagsthis year. Our funds will run very low later this year if the current pace continues.
Currently, the boxes/bags contain: Prem baby vests, blanket, muslin cloths, tiny nappies, cotton wool, wash bag with toiletries for the parents, sweets for the transfer journey (energy!), bottled water, notebook and pen as writing things down helps some parents in neonatal, handgel, hand cream, lip balm and face masks, breast pads and maternity towels.
Please help us keep the scheme going in 2021 by giving what you can spare, we understand money is tight for many at the moment, but the smallest amount adds up.
