My name is Joanne Blesing. The Reality I Now Face.
Despite years of medical documentation, evidence, and proven care records, the NDIS currently funds only about one-third of my essential care needs.
Even that limited funding is uneven — it does not cover weekends, public holidays, or the additional loading rates required to retain trained, consistent carers for complex care.
Even on weekdays, the funding is so limited that it only allows enough support to get up in the morning — but not enough to go safely back to bed at night.
On paper, that means there is no provision for continuity or safety outside limited weekday hours.
In practice, it means I’m left without enough assistance to manage basic daily functions .
What used to be topped up automatically to keep me stable has now been cut off to a third.
My Carers are now over a month behind in being paid by NDIS,, with minimal amounts released once a month. No loadings for holidays or weekends higher rates funded , making the funds go less further — an impossible and dangerous position that no person with a disability should ever face.
It is not just a funding issue; it is a matter of survival, safety, and dignity.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I have fought for years — through every appeal and legal process — to have the correct supports reinstated.
But the NDIS’s repeated funding failures have pushed me into a place that is unsustainable, unsafe, and deeply demoralising.
I have never asked for public help in a long time.
But today, I need it — urgently.
I am seeking donations to cover immediate carer payments and essential daily supports so that I can remain in my home and out of hospital.
Your contribution, no matter how small, helps me:
• Pay the carers who keep me alive and safe.
• Maintain continuity of care until funding is resolved.
• Continue advocating for equitable disability policy and design — so no one else is left in this position.
How You Can Help
1. Donate — any amount helps bridge the funding gap.
2.Share this page — awareness is powerful.
3. Connect me with a minister who can get my situation resolved..
I will continue fighting for proper funding and policy reform — but I cannot do it alone.
Your support gives me the stability to survive this stage, and the strength to keep advocating for others.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me hold on to independence and dignity.
Kindest Regards
Joanne Blesing
