Residents of University Commons, University Village Lofts and the University Village Townhouses are working
together with Alderman Danny Solis' Art in Public Places to have a mural
painted on the large wall that is on Morgan Street between 15th and
just north of the viaduct. The 102 feet long by 12 foot high wall is
viewed directly by the University Village Lofts buildings, the town
houses along Morgan, and University Commons residents walk or drive by
the wall all the time.
We are in the process of putting together a RFP to artists and have come up with a theme to preserve the legacy of the South Water Market and the Maxwell Street area. We personally have been researching photographs of the area and have hit a jackpot. If you go to our Facebook page and like us you will see them some of them. Wow has the area changed.
