Support 'Our Eras Tour' 2025 - A Creative Rollercoaster through time!

Hi! I am Maya Nadotti, an applied theatre practitioner and photographer, and I am the project organiser and lead facilitator for project ‘Our Eras Tour’ 2025 - a passion project rooted in creativity, connection, and intergenerational storytelling

‘Our Eras Tour’ is a creative and personal journey through time, exploring the arts, performance and creative successes from the 1950s-1980s ☎️ A project taking place across four days of hands-on creative workshops, two per time period, where participants will explore iconic styles, art and performance, and the evening of the fourth, a share back

This project reminisces about personal histories, whilst fostering intergenerational and generational bonds through the process

I am so thrilled to be working with many talented people also on this project: Sophie Ebbs, Seval Akayoglu, Davina Finaru and Romanie Purnell, all 2025 BRIT School Applied Theatre graduates. Together, we’re returning to a place that’s close to our hearts: Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight. Most of us went to Mountbatten last year with The BRIT School, conducting a 4 day workshop project based around music and life stories. We then came back for an evening and put on a performance with participants’ life stories to them. Davina was lucky enough to work in St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham

On our projects, we all saw, and felt the impact that the intergenerational conversations had on participants. One of the participants said:

“I thought it went very well and I enjoyed what they did. They entertained me and that was lovely.” — Mountbatten.org.uk, July 2024

We had such nurturing conversations and experiences, from discussing history of music on the island to what our perception of love is nowadays. We shared memories, we laughed about some and cried about others, but most of all we made incredible connections and even more great memories!

This year, we’ve come together independently, without school funding, to take this project to the next level, and to bring it back to the island. We believe in the power of creativity to build bridges, uplift voices, and spark joy

Our target amount was £3,365, but we’ve raised cash, so we are now looking to meet our GoFundMe goal of £2,624. Our original Arts Council funding unfortunately fell through, so our GoFundMe is now the only way we can raise the money needed to make this project happen. This amount will be used for travel to and from the Island (and around it!), fair pay for our brilliant team who have worked so hard on this, accommodation for our facilitation team, and authentic workshop resources that can revive these eras! ️

Any donation, as big or small as it may be, brings us closer to making this magical, meaningful project happen.

Thank you for helping us turn memories into showcased moments. Please donate if you can, and share this with anyone who might support our mission. We are so grateful for your time, energy, and belief in what we are doing!

With love,
Maya & the Our Eras Tour team!
