Guatemala 2018 Mission trip

As my time in dental school is ending with graduation just around the corner (woot woot!!), one of my fondest memories is getting to be apart and be a student leader on a dental mission trip. For the past 3 years God has allowed me to go on a Dental Mission Trip to San Raymundo, Guatemala where we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve around 1,000 kids. This year, God has called me to once again go on this amazing mission trip and be the student team leader. This is a short term mission trip during our Spring Break from March 16th-24th. The trip is being led by Dr. T. Bob Davis, DMD, of Dallas, TX. I will be part of a team bringing crucial dental aid to those who may not receive it otherwise. In addition, we’ll have the opportunity to share the love of God with those who may be hearing this good news for the very first time.
The first time I went on this trip was during my first year of dental school (2014) and I immediately fell in love with what the trip is all about. We provide the people of Guatemala physical dental services as well as sharing the love of Jesus. One specific example I recall from last year was; there was a 12 yr old girl who had severely decayed from teeth to an extent that they could not be saved. We were able to fabricate a partial retainer that would replace her front teeth so she can could smile and not be ashamed of the way she looks anymore. We also get to pray with and share the love of Jesus to every child who comes into our chair.
