Topics I will be addressing when elected. Please add any recommendations you see fit in the comment section.
-Tax assessment. This has caused rent to skyrocket!
-In lieu of paying fines and fees with cash local citizens should have the option to pay with volunteer hours which will also save the City of Albany money and with that money being saved the City of Albany will be able to decrease property taxes.
-Attract new businesses such as hydrogen companies to build here in the old industrial area. It would bring a lot of jobs.
-Street name signs at every corner for emergency situations. I witnessed an accident involving a deaf woman and 4 children. I tried to figure out what street I was on and couldn’t because the lack of designated street signs.
-Having a Representative that will keep an open line of communication.
-Roads are always crumbling every year with nothing long-term ever being done about it. (Manning, S Main, and many other streets)
-Lowering the city speed limit for no viable reason.
-Ordinance making it illegal to store an off-road vehicle within the city limits unless they are registered at the DMV or with the City Clerks office.
-Daycares should have children watch Number Blocks and Songs for littles with Ms. Rachel to help advance our children’s education.
-New Ordinance that prevents people from being able to get into another person’s face in a threatening manner. No law abiding citizen should have to deal with this.
-New Ordinance for Albany residents to be able to stand their ground and not have to run and become victims because the police are being stretched thin and won’t be able to make it in time.
-There needs to be a standardized practice of social decorum being taught to our children.
-Double the fine for people who are double parked on Central Ave and all streets in the City of Albany.
-Albany PD bicycles need to be equipped with a small motor. I like the initiative, but I know the police officers are tired out there peddling all day. We don’t want them tired when responding to a call.
-New ordinance to deter people who are walking aimlessly in the road and not being respectful of drivers.
-A few streets need to be turned into one ways.
-Faded street pavement lines need to be repainted.
-Have the city plow the sidewalks in the winter or have this for people to pay fines with volunteer hours.
